Oh Collagen, how I am beginning to truly love thee!

Collagen is definitely the latest beauty buzz word but it is certainly not a fad. I have been taking it for a month now and while I still have wrinkles (sigh), I am feeling so many other benefits. Before I explain, I know and witnessed someone who could see a difference in her lines particularly around her eyes within 2 weeks. Clearly my wrinkles are more stubborn (sigh again) but I do think my skin is looking brighter, better and not half as dry (which is a huge win as I have very dry skin).

The main difference I have felt is how much stronger I'm feeling (my bones feel good!) and also how much my sleeping patterns have improved. I'm sleeping less (I love, love my bed so often used to sleep too much, I think) but waking up more alive and alert. Mentally I feel stronger too and given the really long hours I work, this is a huge bonus for me.

My nails are definitely growing faster and my hair feels thicker. It has more life in it (normally I have to wash it every 2nd day to have any body to it but now I can leave it up to 4 days).

Another 'side effect' or should I say positive effect is that I'm not constantly hungry! I love my food but the past while I've been eating less and yet feeling energised. I can only think it is the Collagen as I haven't made any other changes. They do say that it promotes weight loss through fat burning so maybe it is that. Another reason for me to love it!

The other good thing about Collagen (as if we needed more!) is that the longer you use it, the better it is. Many positive changes only happen over a longer time period so there is still lots more to look forward to. And maybe eventually my stubborn wrinkles will be worn down enough ha ha!

But for now, I'm off to run up our mountain so this will be the true test of body strength - go Collagen!

'Til next time!
Rachelle

p.s. have you tried it? What changes have you seen? If you haven't yet tried it, why would you want to - what is the biggest change you would like? Comment below...we give away random prizes for comments sometimes...the next one could be yours!

  • It is definitely part of my daily supplement routine. I won’t say I could see my lines disappear, as Rome was’t built in a day lol. I can however definitely say my skin feels healthier, hydrated & not just talking about my face. I have very dry skin & my skin has more moisture.

  • Thank you for this informative article. I just started using hydrolyzed marine collagen. Hoping I will also get great results. I too have extremely dry skin especially in winter and due to allergies and eczema my skin shows quite a bit of damage, so I hope this will improve my skin. My knees are sometimes very painful so maybe the collagen will sort this out too. And I am wondering whether collagen will fix spider veins, imagine that!!! Which product have you been using?

  • I would love to use this for healthy joints. Can’t stand my aches and pains anymore, so would luv to see a difference because I haven’t tried this product before.

  • I have extremely dry and sensitive skin on my face. And I have keratosis pilaris on my arms, legs and thighs. And I can honestly see that my nails are unhealthy. So I think I SHOULD give this a try because I suffer from 90% of the things you said collagen helps with.
