Fighting winter skin - moisturised but not too much

Despite having access to so many beautiful products, I am a tough customer to please as I have (sometimes problematic) dry skin that can be sensitive (especially in this winter weather!) so when I find something that my skin loves, it's bliss for me! You all know by now that I am obsessed with Lamarie for that reason but this week I've been testing Stila One Step Illuminate and it is love for me too!

In the past I have tried primers and so on but have never felt my skin is nourished enough all day (while wearing it) and, in fact, often it feels more dry by the end of the day. Bring on Illuminate! It says it "illuminates, primes and nourishes" skin and I can vouch that it truly does. And what is great too is that my skin doesn't feel in any way oily but instead shines healthily when wearing it.

I put some on in the morning and later headed to our local forest - odd you might think but these dog walkers I see every single day know me and believe me, will pass comment, good or bad. It's how we are with each other...so what better testing ground. I also head there at the end of the day when, let's face it, I'm not always looking fresh and alive. 3 (great) comments later I felt I had won! 2 were that I was glowing and the 3rd asked me if I had had a facial!

The best part to me though was that my skin felt gloriously moisturised throughout the time I wore it and yet not greasy. I also found that I could use it sparingly (which is good at R520 a bottle) and still get great coverage.

Stila's Illuminate has Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex™ - a proprietary blend of 15 bio-available vitamins, minerals and antioxidants - and anything with 'youth' in it that works is a win for me ;)

Do you use it? Please share your thoughts below!

'Til next time, Beautiful!

  • I LOVE this….I don’t usually bother with things like this because I like to keep it simple but couldn’t resist it (also cause you had it on sale!) and now can’t live with out it. I am interested to see how it is in summer but for winter skin it’s the best.
